"Teach me", she said
"Are you sure?" he answered,
"there lies beauty in discovery you know"
-"yeah, I know, but, there is beauty in learning too.
There is beauty in learning
from you."

Say YES to Edinburgh!

Today was amazing, I had an open day at the University of Edinburgh, and I think I made my decision: Edinburgh it is!
I'm really excited, I had a great day and met some great people. I got to see more of the city and the Uni and aaaahh :D
Now sitting at Starbucks, processing this experience, it is weird to say yes, it is so definite. But it feels great!!

Okay, so, you're Dutch, and on a German airport. Oh dear, which language do I speak?! Trying my best German, knowing they won't understand and mocking myself, or use English, knowing they won't understand either because well, you know, we're not exactly in the UK... And dutch doesn't even spring to my mind. So I'm here, with all these people I don't know, to whom I don't know what language to speak. Wonderful! xD
But well I guess, I know, thats something I would have to accept as traveller in spe, and it's kind of funny actually, because I'm smiling while writing this, sitting at Weeze airport :)
I was thinking about the USA for a minute, how easy it has to be without those language boundaries. But on the other hand, I would miss out on tons of experiences if I were to live there. So I'm happy to be her. Not being able to talk properly in one language. Travelling.

Endless Monday

So, a quick update while on the bus: school started again D:
God I don't know why but from the moment I walked into that depressing building I'm non stop tired and, of course, depressed. There really should be something done about our school system, most of the hours I spent at school are completely pointless... I had 3 out of 8 productive hours today for example -.- So really, time to go home!!

Things that stop you dreaming

Oh my god! I just discovered that there is one more song on Passengers album 'All the little lights' (which is totally amazing!). I like listen to this album for over a year now, but I downloaded it, and it was a wrong download. The song "things that stop you dreaming" wasn't on it. But actually I am so happy, it's just like he just released a new song with the exact same sound of that album. aaaah it's so amazing, and the song is so beautiful! (but well, all his songs are)

Back on track

(It's not that something horrible happened, the title just implies me getting back on blog-track)

First things (The Gaslight Anthem) first
And with that said, I have so much to say and talk and write and blog about, but i'll start with this, the song I'm at the moment listening to: Handwritten, by The Gaslight Anthem (If you don't know them, please get to know them, they're awesome!) And in this song, there's this lyrics:

"Here in the dark, I cherish the moonlight
I'm in love with the way you're in love with the night
And it travels from heart to limb to pen"

There is so much to say about this that there's just nothing to say about it. These lyrics are just amazing. And a tip: listen to this song with plug-in earbuds or headphones, it makes the song only more amazing. (oh and here's the vid: )

My start as a Photographer
So what I wanted to share with you, is my photography portfolio, which I grew to be very proud of :). I finally got to putting it together because I wanted to be part of my portfolio that I had to show at my Architecture interview at Cambridge (which was an amazing experience, that's all I'm gonna say about it;)) So I wanted to show a part of it, here it is:
